If you’ve ever had to change terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), you likely know it can be a real pain. You can brave the elements and walk on a sometimes crowded sidewalk, which may be narrowed down due to construction. Alternatively, you can wait to hop onto one of the crowded shuttle buses that may be delayed. Fortunately, there is a new option available.

LAX Now Offers A Connection Between Terminals 1–8

Passengers traveling through LAX without leaving the building. LAX is the sixth busiest airport in the world, so having a way to get from Terminal 1 all the way through to Terminal 8 can be a significant stress relief and save a reasonable amount of time.

However, here’s where things get a little tricky.

Access to the nearly two-mile path is only accessible post-security. So, if you have to collect your luggage and switch to another airline, you’ll still need to leave the building.

For instance, if you are arriving at LAX on a Southwest flight in Terminal 1 but then switching to another airline for an international trip, you will need to collect your checked bags (if any), go outside and use the sidewalk or shuttle, and then make your way to Tom Bradley International Terminal for your next departing flight. As it is a new airline, you must go through the check-in and security process again.

But, if you are sticking to one airline and need to change terminals, you can easily do that from your arrival gate to your departing gate.
